1956 Ford Thunderbird, purchased in 1989 in Belmont Shores, is a California Car, and had no rust. In the paint shop, Laguna Auto Collision, painted by Jim O’Hare, stripped to bare metal, worked, sanded and blocked for 18 months.
Car was worked on by Jim Weatherly in Fullerton, Ca. Ground up restoration, interior, and chrome by LA Chrome. It since has had a complete engine build, bored .40 over, balanced and blueprinted.
It is a two top car, with custom hand made stay fast canvas, trimmed in ivory to accent the Raven Black and Colonial White colors. New 4 row radiator, electric fan, electric fuel pump and gas tank and sender.
Transmission freshly gone through and rebuilt.
The car is an outstanding driver, power assisted steering and brakes, power seat, and windows, and Fordomatic trans. The car is not a show car but has won over 40 trophies at local shows and 4 time class winner at Fallbrook Memorial day Car Show. Very recent re-restoration on the hard top, paint, headliner and all stainless. The paint and interior are first class and the car is a fun driver and gets a lot of looks.
